Animal Shelters

Oldham County Animal Control is a shelter that investigates cases of animal neglect, abuse, and abandonment. They also adopt out animals, like our sweet Nyxie girl (pictured to the right)!
Oldham County does not take donations through their website, but they do take in-person donations and well as mail-in donations. If you choose to make a donation to Oldham, feel free to bring the donation to the wedding and Baley or I will make sure it makes it to the shelter!

Kentucky Animal Tales is a nonprofit organization that rescues animals from a variety of situations including abuse, neglect, and owner surrenders. This is where Baley and I got our little stinker, Ares Scott (pictured above)!

The Lexington Humane Society is Kentucky’s largest pet adoption agency and has committed to never euthanize a pet due to lack of space.
Horse Rescues / Rehabilitations

Second Stride works with owners and trainers within the thoroughbred racing community to help find retired racehorses their next home.

Resolute Racing’s aftercare program, Racing to Rescue, helps retired racehorses and horses found in kill pens find their new homes.

New Vocations helps thoroughbreds who have either been retired or injured find a second career away from the racetrack.
